This 18” x 12” gouache and acrylic painting on wood was born from a miniature mixed media work, turned into a pendant.

The pendant is part of a series from a “100 day project” now dubbed the “100 piece project” where Rose glazes through National Geographic magazines in the search for interesting compositions to be used on the very limited sized surface.

Once she has her image, she uses free thought association to alter the magazine image with paint or even other magazine pieces, creating a collage. In this case for the painting “Memory Of” Rose painted the pair of scissors.

In essence, Rose built a piece around the pendant piece, continuing the landscape inspired from the original image.
